One Cause Once a Year

by Jeremy Powers on September 27, 2010

Most of you know me through prior work relationships.  You know there is only one cause I ever request donations for, and I only ask you to consider donating for one time each year:

Out of the Darkness 2010

The Cincinnati Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention has made great strides in the last year.  While maintaining our general outreach efforts, we have increased our focus on high school and college student education and stigma issues.  We are in the schools via talks, information give-aways, and DVDs.

Your support in our annual Out of the Darkness walks continues to be our greatest source of funding.

Out of the Darkness 2010

We have some big one-time events planned for 2011, including hosting the national survivors training conference in March.  This meeting helps train counselors from around the country on the best ways to help with the issue of suicide.  The growth and support of your Cincinnati chapter has convinced the national organization that Cincinnati is the right place to host the conference for 2011!

I do not like high pressure fundraising, and you will receive, at most, one more reminder to give to this worthy cause.  I encourage you to take a moment today and GIVE NOW, especially if you know you plan to give to the cause.  Giving now helps us build momentum and interest, and high early donation levels can help our event gain media awareness.

Thank you for your continued consideration and support.
